Yourself but bigger

It's great advice to presenters to "be yourself". If you're funny in real life, be funny. If you're serious be serious. If you naturally curious then be that. No one should try to make you into something you're not. Nonetheless you are on stage and being on stage requires something more of us. We need to be us...but bigger. Bigger gestures, bigger voice, more opinionated, more interesting. This is a condensed unit of time. If ever you are going to be interesting, this should be it. If ever you had something important to say, this is it. And the larger the auditorium is the larger you must be to fill it. Go sit on the back row and see how small the presenter is. In order to keep the back row with you you'll need to be bigger than you are one-on-one.
