What happens when you swear during a presentation? It stops the audience cold. They think about it, some are offended, the event coordinator begins to sweat, and everyone loses focus. And you know what they aren't doing? Listening to you. The same goes for anything that even the most sensitive people could consider racist or sexist. I watched a well known speaker who said the same cuss word about a dozen times in his presentation to a very large audience. People giggled because they were uncomfortable. At least one lady on my aisle left. Keeping your presentation PG rated ensures no one gets sidetracked.
